Compassionate & Understanding Behavior Empowerment is the focus of The C.U.B.E. Approach™.

 

Utilizing a coaching model, Dr. Burke customizes student learning based on identified areas of need including, academic, social learning, and emotional health in a way that builds student’s self confidence and problem solving abilities. The results of this approach promote increased self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation to overcome challenges and pursue aspirations. 

Dr. Burke offers individual coaching for students grades 1st through high school.

Individuals post high schools are supported through Health and Wellness Coaching: Healthy Habits for Healthy Living.

Tools for learning include but not limited to:

      • My Plan to Stay Calm (Burke 2012): Visual Tool for emotional regulation that utilizes 5 point scale (Buron, 2003) Social Thinking Concepts (Garcia-Winner,  2007); Emotional Tool Box (Atwood,  1998). 
      • Reflection Journal™ (Burke, 2012): A tool for social learning. 
      • RULER: Recognizing, Understanding, Labeling, Expressing, Regulating Emotions & Mood Meter (Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, Bracket 2019).
      • Social Thinking language based methodology for building social cognition needed for social competences for ages 4 – adult (socialthinking.com).
      • Story Grammar Marker® a manipulative tool for developing narrative language skills needed for reading, writing and speaking (mindwingconcepts.com). 
      • Zones of Regulation© Fosters self regulation and emotional control (zonesofregulation.com).  

Initial Consultation and skills assessment are utilized to identify student goals and required pre coaching sessions. Ongoing progress monitoring and parent updates are included in session rates.
